Communications

As with any major incident there is likely to be media interest, and it is important that the public are accurately and regularly warned and informed of potential risks and actions to take.

The STAC should be linked into the communications team for the emergency, such as the RP Public Communications Group (PCG) so that public advice or information from STAC will be coordinated with other information outputs through the main coordinating group. STAC communications are to be issued via the RP PCG. The RP should ensure that a structured communications strategy is put in place as soon as possible, including input from all local organisations.
