Part of The role of community groups in emergencies

Introduction

When everyone works together to deal with an emergency—individuals, communities, businesses and emergency responder organisations—the associated challenges are easier to overcome. There are many things that make a community resilient, and the needs, priorities and solutions vary across the diverse communities of Scotland.

This module provides an overview of the steps that any community can take to become more resilient and to be well prepared for responding to an emergency. It also provides information on building strong connections with local responder organisations.
